Can I see some ID?

B.C. Solicitor-General John Les says bouncers, bodyguards and other security industry workers will soon need licences in British Columbia to work in bars or offer protection services.

Good idea. As much as I am to loath more regulation in our society, this is an excellent way to provide legal protection to both patrons and the workers. I know of a few security personnel in Saskatoon who would have been rightly stripped of their qualifications after laying their first beating on a drunken 18-year-old, rather than sipmly given a lower profile shift watching the back door.
