A Sober Second Thought
Maybe a $100 rebate to each taxpayer would help ease the pain? It is good to see that no matter how bad our rebate and tax credit ideas get north of the border, the United States has our back.

Didn't the Chretien Liberals offer a $125 one-time heating rebate cheque to low-income families about six years ago? I distinctly remember getting one (ah, to be a full-time student again).
It was needs tested. Meaning that many prisoners and students, who received the GST credit, snagged the benefit.
You just can't win. It is, however, better than a universal cash dump.
