Two all beef patties
Director Richard Linklater, the filmmaker behind Dazed and Confused, Before Sunset and Slacker, is set to make a big-screen version of the Fast Food Nation. This book, by journalist Eric Schlosser, provides insight into how restaurant chains like McDonald's have changed North American culture.

Fast Food Nation has caused a sensation since it was published in 2001, giving ammunition to those who believe that the fast-food industry is responsible for, among other things, increasing the rate of obesity in the U.S.
Schlosser helped Linklater write the script for the big-screen adaptation. It's not known if the film will be a documentary, but the book does not have a traightforward narrative: instead, it is an extended piece of reportage that follows Schlosser as he travels around the U.S. chronicling the history and effects of fast food.
