Harvest Moon - Round 3
The Atlantic Institute for Market Studies, an East coast version of the Fraser Institute, is echoing the claim of some great Saskatchewan residents on the real issue - EQUALIZATION. The Institute believes that the province is getting a raw deal when it comes to oil and gas revenues. Currently, the more the province makes in energy revenue, the less it gets in equalization dollars.
Flashback - After a temper tantrum from Danny Millions, Newfoundland and Labrador (and Nova Scotia) signed a new deal with Ottawa earlier this year, which allows them to keep their revenue and their equalization payments.
Right-wing think tanks aren't usually an alley for NDP governments, but Calvert will take friends or friendly comments when available.
