Bad Idea Jeans

John Mason, the jilted groom, whose bride-to-be ran away four days before their wedding still wants to marry Jennifer Wilbanks, saying, “Haven't we all made mistakes?” John, a mistake would be forgetting the wedding vows not skipping out on the wedding.

“Just because we haven't walked down the aisle, just because we haven't stood in front of 500 people and said our I Do's, my commitment before God to her was the day I bought that ring and put it on her finger, and I'm not backing down from that,” John Mason said Monday in his first television interview since the ordeal. In other words, he is stating that he would be crazy to walk away from the close $100,000 worth of wedding gifts.

Police say Ms. Wilbanks cut her hair and took a Greyhound bus to Las Vegas to back out of a lavish, 600-guest wedding planned for Saturday. She then went on to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she eventually called Mr. Mason and police saying she had been kidnapped from a pay phone at a 7-11. She did this after enjoying 7 nachos and slurpee. She later said it simply a case of cold feet. That and she wanted her one call to be made to Dar Heatherington in Lethbridge, Alberta. Apparently, they are in a book club together in Afghanistan.

This whole case shouldn't come as a complete surprise since nearly 1 in 5 engagements end prematurely. That is a bad ratio, but it is even worse when you consider the divorce rate is now hovering around 50%.
