Prime Minister Paul Martin and Dalton McGuinty emerged from a marathon nine hour meeting with a plan to increase spending in Ontario by 5.75 B over the next five years.
The timing of this announcement works out brilliantly for both men. Martin is facing mounting pressure to pass his budget (Budget 3.0 - I think) and fighting for political survival. Meanwhile, McGuinty is set to table his budget on Wednesday.
My advice to the PM, rest a little since the treasury needs a break. Plus, the Finance folks need to refill the whiteout for the next round of Budget amendments.
