He's back!
Former Quebec Premier Jacques Parizeau believes the sovereigntist cause he rallied to near-victory in 1995 is poised to make a breakthrough.
Parizeau, appearing on the new Mike Duffy political show - Countdown - on CTV Newsnet, stated that the writing is on the wall and dismissed the federal Clarity Act which demands a clear referendum question as a prerequisite to negotiating terms of separation. "Can you imagine feds saying we don't like your answers," Parizeau implored, calling such suggestions a "political stunt."
Federalists need not worry since Stephane Dion followed up Jacques Strap and articulated the situation. Dion is a smart man and Martin was stupid to take him out of Intergovernmental Affairs.
